The Carl M. Freeman Companies is pleased to announce the selection of David E. Levitsky as the Chief Financial Officer for the Olney, Maryland based company. He is filling the vacancy created by the recent promotion of Frank G. Edwards to President for the Mid-Atlantic real estate business.

Prior to being named CFO, David served as Vice President of Finance and Administration for the Freeman Companies Community Development and Homebuilding business segment. He was responsible for directing the organization's financial planning and accounting practices as well as cultivating its relationship with lending institutions, shareholders, and the community. As a member of the management team, David shared an important role in policy formulation and management execution of both short-term and long-term plans.

Prior to joining the Freeman Companies in 2000 as the Director of Finance, David worked for Marriott International/Host Marriott Corporation as Area Director of Finance in Walnut Creek, CA and then as Vice President of Operations Finance in Bethesda, MD. Earlier in his career, he worked for the Anheuser-Busch Companies as Productivity Manager for Busch Gardens in Tampa, New Business Analyst for the company’s Exploration Cruise Lines and then as a Senior Business Analyst for Busch Entertainment Corporation.

David earned a master’s of business administration in finance from St. Louis University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of South Florida (Tampa, FL).
