Success Stories
Over the years the Carl M. Freeman Companies have enjoyed many successes, a few
of them are featured below:

A Better Family Life: Potomac Towne Center in Ranson, West Virginia
A single mother of two young children working at a pizza shop in West Virginia raved about her new found quality of life – now that she could work minutes (rather than hours) from home at the new Potomac Towne Center shopping center developed by the Carl M. Freeman Companies.

Sea Colony: A Legacy Community Enjoyed By Generations
The idea of high-rise buildings on the beach in the late 1960’s was a radical notion to say the least. And, over three decades of development visitors to and owners in the Sea Colony community have come to love and cherish the “beautiful beach and tennis community.” We not only feel great success when we hear stories from the families who contributed to the book 'Celebrating Sea Colony' but we also know owners have enjoyed a significant return on their investment over the years – in a safe, well planned, environmentally sensitive community.

Rock Creek Village Center Shuttle A Success
During the redevelopment of Rock Creek Village Center nearby senior citizens would be inconvenienced as they would not have easy access to the grocery store closest to their homes. As a friendly neighbor, the Carl M. Freeman Companies established a shuttle that provided free and convenient service to another near-by grocery store for the convenience of these valued shoppers.

Answer to the Community Call for Theater at the Beach
Residents on the Delaware Shore felt that a strong cultural arts presence was missing in their community. So, the Carl M. Freeman Companies and the Carl M. Freeman Foundation created and sponsored 'Free Theatre at the Beach' -- a multiple night outdoor community theatre production within our community The Village at Bear Trap Dunes -- enjoyed by thousands of residents and visitors each year.

Historical Property: Saved From Neglect and Disrepair
At the center of the town of Easton, Maryland sits the landmark Historic Tidewater Inn, purchased by the Carl M. Freeman Companies under fairly dramatic circumstances at auction on the steps of the courthouse. Since that acquisition the company has become part of the Easton community – and significant renovations have begun on The Historic Tidewater Inn – and include improved amenities for guests and new dining opportunities for residents and visitors alike. The community is celebrating the return of the gem of the Easton community to its place of prestige.

Better Living and Golf at 'The Beach'— The Village at Bear Trap Dunes
In the late 1990’s on the Delaware shore some were skeptical about plans to turn some flat farmland three miles from the beach into a beach community complete with 27 holes of golf. Much to their surprise the company enjoyed record sales at The Village at Bear Trap Dunes, Golf Inc. recognized the community as the 'Development of the Year' and hundreds of families and their guests are enjoying life (and a nice investment) at the beach.

Land Trust for Ongoing Conservation
In an effort to remain a company that is dedicated to protecting the environment the Carl M. Freeman Companies granted a conservation easement to Sussex County Land Trust which included 287 acres of woods and wetlands at Bayside. We are proud to be the first developer in Sussex County to create such an easement. In addition, we have also committed annual contributions to an endowment to the land trust for 10 years to cover administration and maintenance costs associated with the land parcels.
